Disasters and children’s mental health

Traumatic events such as the mass shooting in New Zealand and the Easter bombings in Sri Lanka cause tragedy—leaving deep emotional scars. And following natural disasters a high proportion of children report mental health problems. We hear from a family who survived the Black Saturday bushfires 10 years ago; and how to equip adults to minimise the impact of trauma on children.
